Halloween at The Leo
Wednesday, October 31, 2012
Today is Halloween and we had a lot of fun here at The Leonardo!
Members of our Education Team, Brooklyn and Katherine, visited a 7th Grade class as part of The Leo on Wheels program. Their Halloween "costumes?" Simple machines! Together they combined to make a human Rube Goldberg Machine.
Meanwhile back at The Leo, everyone's favorite tinkerer, Bruce, called in sick. Luckily his good friend Captain Oblivious was able to take over for him.
Bruce, er, the Captain, brought in his latest laboratory creation, this "Jacob's Ladder." Even though the lightbulb over Captain Oblivious's head is never lit, he sure knows a lot about electricity.
If you haven't been to the new Tinkering Garage on the 2nd Floor yet, it's a great a place to spend some time. Bruce will help you put simple machines together into more complex machines, and you might be amazed where your imagination can take you!
It wouldn't be Halloween without Trick-or-Treating, and this afternoon Members of The Leonardo got to bring the little ones and Trick-or-Treat and get candy throughout our exhibits. Not a member of The Leo? Check out the details here. There are a lot of great benefits... though right now the only one I can think about is candy. Gotta go.
