Blog entry by Danielle Follett Chard, The Leonardo's marketing specialist.The Leonardo's focus means we're lucky enough to work closely with some amazing local artists. One, in particular, has played major roles in global art movements and the art scene in this city -- and she's playing a major role in helping develop The Leonardo.
Artist Jann Haworth has been working with The Leonardo for the past six years and served as our first Resident at The Lab @ Leo prototyping event. We thought taking another look at this prolific artist would be a fun way to combine our love and appreciation for art and our love for exploring the beautiful places around Salt Lake.

Jann is best known for co-creating the iconic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover and being a leader in the Pop Art movement with her work shown in galleries around the world. Haworth is known around Salt Lake for her involvement in such street art projects like SLC Pepper, the 337 Project, and the Alice Through The Looking Glass mural that's currently being repainted on 300 South. Check out some of the beautiful work going on over there, and be sure to visit it once it's completed!

A self-proclaimed education junkie and art ambassador, Jann has helped The Leonardo infuse art into its curriculum and exhibits as well as bringing her work to the people of Salt Lake. It's exciting to have such amazing local talent in the area-- Jann isn't the only one we've got our eye on!-- and we'd love to hear your thoughts on some of the art around the city. Jann does have a passion for education and possesses the gift of enabling you to see the ordinary and commonplace in whole new ways through a combination of profound grasp of possibilities and meanings, and an irrepressible whimsy.
